Mickey Raphael : Howler Music MonoSonic Sessions Live from Luck, Texas

For the latest installment of MonoSonic Sessions, we headed to The Chapel at Luck, Texas, a special place on Willie Nelson's ranch originally built in 1985 as part of the set for Red Headed Stranger. Over the years, the chapel has welcomed countless musicians, storytellers, and friends of Willie, becoming one of Texas music's most unique gathering spaces.

To kick off the series, we sat down with Mickey Raphael, whose harmonica has been an essential part of Willie Nelson's sound for more than five decades. Surrounded by the history and atmosphere of the chapel, Mickey delivered a performance we're honored to share.

Recorded live in March 2026.

HEED THE CALL.

About MonoSonic Sessions

MonoSonic Sessions is a live music series from Howler Music where some of our favorite artists play a show for a small audience (and a couple cameras) at one of our stores or events. Come get up close without the crowd and get an intimate look at how the band interacts and works. You'll probably discover your new favorite.
