  • A Vague History of the Howler Brothers Gaucho Snapshirt. The pearl snap western shirt has always been the choice of the coolest guy in the room. We’re not just talking about Hollywood cowboys and Nashville singers either. It was the non-cowboys that made the western shirt so ubiquitously cool - people like Clint Eastwood and Burt Reynolds who brought a cowboy spirit to places beyond the frontier. And universal badasses like Willie Nelson and Bob Marley who solidified its status as the understated uniform for those cutting their own path in the world. One of the reasons we started Howler Brothers in the first place was to make embroidered western shirts. Before the days of Howler, we regularly scoured thrift stores for vintage gems. These finds were great but they were often made of thick polyester fabric, designed with super long shirt tails and stained with the remnants of their previous owner. So, we had a dream to reinvent it by upgrading the fit, using quick-drying fabric and adding a subtle vented back yoke. Of course, we had a million embroidery ideas ranging from sea creatures to the cosmos. Thus, our Gaucho Snapshirt was born. Truth told, we didn’t know people would take to the Gaucho with such vigor. It was one of our best selling items from day one and most sold out very quickly. Famous folks like Will Ferrell, Matthew McConaughey and Jimmy Kimmel started showing up in Gauchos on TV and at Lakers games. Without further adieu, here is the World of Gaucho, so far.
