This is the second pair of these shorts that I have purchased in the last 4 years. My old pair actually looks reasonably new side by side. I bought this pair as a spare or when I'm required to look a little more presentable. If you are active hiker that climbs up and over things, sails, casual biking, getting in and out of old very low Lotus sports car and enjoys traveling, these are the shorts to have. I love the zipper pockets. I don't enjoy reaching into a pocket and finding that the object I had is missing or worrying in a crowd if something is going to disappear. Last but not least, they are comfortable!
